The Human Brain Project™ is an initiative whose objective is to produce the first entirely research-based neuroscience curriculum; and to present this curriculum freely via the internet.  It was founded upon, and remains dedicated to, the ideal that the only obstacle to the acquisition of scientific understanding should be the limits of one's own curiosity, and not those of one's financial, geographic, cultural, socio-economic, academic or linguistic circumstances.

Furthermore, this initiative strives to pursue this objective by presenting scientific inquiry not as a search for knowledge, but as a search for understanding; and thus, to promote the idea that because scientific understanding is not a static body of information; the scientific mind should strive not for the defense or authorship of scientific theories (though such theories will undoubtedly be the result of any fruitful inquiry); but for the development of further questions and those innovative techniques and methods by which they may be approached.
